TikTok Seeking a Head of US Commerce Leader - Advertising Focus
I wonder if the right leader needs experience selling Shadow Work Journals?
Something that ran across my feed this morning -- even as TikTok is under fire in the US for Chinese influence, that doesn't seem to stop its expansion plans. There is a role they are hiring for called Head of US Commerce.
A few notes:
* TikTok already has an ad sales team, but I expect that they will likely be looking to poach talent from Google, Meta, and other platforms.
* This is quite a senior role, posted in the $300k - $400k range, which validates the prior point, although I imagine the very top sales leaders at Google and Meta are earning quite a bit more.
* 15 years ad/sales experience and 8+ years leadership, definitely a senior-level role.
* CPG and Retail are called out as big sectors - these are all big ad spenders.
I'm sure TikTok Shop is part of this role, but ads always, always rule the day at platforms because of the much higher margin profile and growth potential.
