How To Think About LinkedIn
This year from LinkedIn, I personally have gained two customers recommended by people I did not know, who recommended me to a decision maker I had never met.
Let me let you in on a secret about LinkedIn. You can get customers from people who are not your followers.
Huh? How's that possible?! How do you convert someone who's not in your pipeline? The people who are on LinkedIn are often leaders, in whatever role they are in. They are influencers. Seeking new information. These types of people are often influencers within their peer networks.
Think about this when you are creating your LinkedIn content. Write for your customer and the problems they have, even if they are not currently following you. The reality is, you may end up connecting to that person eventually anyway because of the laws of attraction.
It's not about having the widest reach. It's about reaching the right people. What's the most efficient type of marketing in the world?
It's not Google or Facebook. It's still word of mouth.
