Squarespace to Go Private in $6.9B Private Equity Deal

Squarespace is a website-building platform that provides tools for individuals and businesses to create and manage their online presence. It competes with Wix and Shopify in the website-builder and e-commerce marketplace.

Global Private Equity fund Permira has acquired website building and hosting platform Squarespace for $44 per share to take the company private. Is going private a growing trend?
