How I Started My Business

It's crazy to think, I've been in business for two years for myself.

I plan to send a quick note to my email subscribers about what I've learned over that time. If you're interested in hearing more on eCommerce, marketplaces, and other topics from me, subscribe to my mailing list. I'll give you a bonus one here though, with links below.

What were literally the first 3 things I did to start my business?

  1. File articles of incorporation online (in my case, NYC). You can file it yourself - it's almost as easy as buying from Amazon.

  2. Obtain an Employer ID Number from the IRS.

  3. Open a business bank account (with the EIN you just received) and credit card.

That's it. The hardest thing is actually determining what you want to call the company.
