Amazon Is Taking Over US logistics

Anecdotal evidence for Amazon taking over North American supply chain.

I recently took a trip down I-95 from NYC to Virginia, and, of course, I counted tractor-trailers. Want to know what I came up with?

  • FedEx: 3 (+1 Custom Critical)

  • UPS: 2

  • Amazon: 26

It's not a typo. Underestimate Amazon's ability to dominate the North American supply chain at your peril.

It's quite possible Amazon will become the "hub" of North American fulfillment, and everyone else will be relegated to spokes in the network - either prepping materials to inject into Amazon's network, or staging materials upstream or downstream of Amazon's network.
