BJ's strengthens supply chain with distribution center acquisition

BJ's Wholesale Club Holdings Inc. BJ, -4.21% announced Tuesday that it has acquired four refrigerated distribution centers from Burris Logistics, strengthening its perishable supply chain.

Acquiring logistics technology makes sense for large retailers — particularly in cold chain which is a highly specialized segment of the sector.
