L Catterton Acquires Controlling Interest in French Clothing Brand A.P.C

Created by Jean Touitou in 1987 to convey his vision of a timeless brand, A.P.C. is a French clothing brand, authentic and accessible by way of its style, prices and philosophy.

L Catterton is a market-leading consumer-focused investment firm, managing more than $33 billion of capital across three multi-product platforms: private equity, credit, and real estate.

Another day, another private equity acquisition.  APC is a brand that was founded in France in 1987 but has over 80% of its sales outside France, which makes it a good target for a global private equity operator.  It looks like the existing management team will continue to be heavily involved in the project, which you don’t always see.
