Eyewear Maker EssilorLuxottica to Acquire Supreme for $1.5B

EssilorLuxottica is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of ophthalmic lenses, optical equipment, and eyewear.

Supreme is a highly influential streetwear brand known for its distinctive style that blends elements of skateboarding, hip-hop, and punk culture.

Global eyewear maker EssilorLuxottica has acquired streetwear brand Supreme from VF Corp for $1.5B. Why would EssilorLuxottica acquire Supreme? To add collaborations between EssilorLuxottica brands and Supreme. It does not make sense.
