Descartes Group Acquires Australian Last-mile Scheduling Platform Localz

Descartes is a Canadian logistics IT firm.

The Localz platform allows end customers to schedule services and deliveries through an online portal and then follow the shipment’s progress in real time with advanced notification features built in.

Localz looks like a startup that was acquired for $6.2 million from Descartes which is a large player in SaaS supply chain technology solutions for B2B applications.  It seems to me this fills a gap in their offerings which allows their customers to reschedule and be notified in real-time about a shipment’s progress.
